Beyblade X Fight Night

This was a project/performance, where we wanted to take Beyblade X and enlarge it to a full UFC style event/performance. This was done in collaboration with Maarten Wolters and Mees van den Brink.

Additionally it featured our actors who participated as contenders:

One of my roles in this project was undertake graphic design, which included the scoreboard, tournament board and fighter stats.

Spatial Audio

My other big role was to spatialize the soundtracks. Each fighter featured their own theme song, which was played over a 8 speaker surround sound setup. Each element within these soundtracks had to spatialized using the 4d sound engine.

Additionally we also used 4d Sound within the battles themselves. The location of the Beyblades inside of the arena is tracked. This data was then used to control the X and Y coordinates to link the location of the beyblading sounds to the real-time location of the beys within the arena, enhancing the viewing experience by being able to hear the location of both the Beyblades, alongside when they hit each other or when they use a Xtreme rail.
